Afternoon BMMSL Members:

After careful consideration, the Executive has made the decision to cancel tonight’s ball games due to the cold weather conditions.

We understand that this may not be a popular decision, especially with some of our more dedicated players who are eager to get on the field. However, our responsibility is to prioritize player safety above all else.

The forecasted temperatures, combined with the wind, are expected to drop into the minus range this evening. These are not typical conditions for our May start, and they present several concerns:

• Players will not be able to properly warm up or stay warm during games
• Cold conditions significantly increase the risk of muscle strains and early-season injuries
• A lack of available spares is expected, as many are understandably unwilling to play 2 games in these conditions

We are not prepared to risk player health and safety for a single night of games, especially this early in the season.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. While we know this is disappointing, we believe this is the right decision to ensure everyone can enjoy a safe and healthy season moving forward.
